Interview

On 1st December 2009 Toby, the new Lapwing newsletter editor, travelled to visit Fortune Street in London. It was an early start for Toby, Jim collected him at 8.15am and they went to meet Tracy at Ipswich Railway Station. After catching the train to Liverpool Street, they walked from there to Fortune Street, taking in the sights of London; walking across Southwark Bridge.

‘Quick stop for photos on the steps before Lynne opened the door to greet us all. I introduced myself to everyone very quickly, Aoife very kindly made us some nice warm drinks.

Christian sat down with me and we went through the booklet showing the Lapwing layouts, etc. Tracy, my personal assistant, had brought her laptop showing all the work we had done on the newsletter. Christian watched whilst I inserted my photograph onto the front page, very important as I am the Editor.

I then inserted some jpegs of Lapwing onto the newsletter and changed the heading title; whilst Christian watched. Then Tracy and Becci altered a few more things for me whilst I oversaw it all. I was very pleased with the finished article.

All too soon, our day was over; I had to thank everyone and shake their hands. Before leaving, I told everyone I had had a good day and I have asked Lynne if we can visit again. We arrived back at Liverpool Street in time for the 2.30pm train; I had a fantastic day – everything has been brilliant.’
