Lapwing demonstrates expertise in the area of learning disabilities ‘mate crime’

This BILD conference in Bristol is a must-attend event for those with Learning Disabilities, and for professionals working with people with Learning Difficulties.

Along with Suffolk Hate Crime Service, Lapwing is facilitating the session on ‘Mate Crime‘.

Mate crime is where people with learning disabilities are taken advantage of by people who pretend to be their friend. We will look at how and why this
happens, and what we can do about it. Hate and mate crime online are becoming more common. We will look at how to keep safe when using social media and websites such as Facebook.
