Disabled children’s charity to run Disability Hate Crime Awareness Workshops

Disabled children’s charity Out & About is running a series of free workshops to raise awareness of disability hate crime.

The workshops will be held at Out & About’s offices in Claydon on the following dates:

Thursday 15th March from 6.30 to 9pm; Saturday 14th April from 10am to 12.30 pm and on Thursday 24th May from 6.30 to 9.00 pm

The Hidden in Plain Sight inquiry carried out by the Equality and Human Rights commission revealed that for many disabled people, harassment is a commonplace experience. Many come to accept it as inevitable.

These free workshops are hard-hitting and aim to equip delegates with how to recognise the effects of disability hate crime and to understand what they can do to put a stop to this growing problem.

The workshops are suitable for all those who work directly with children and young people (both disabled and non-disabled) or for anyone in the private, public and voluntary sectors who has a vested interest in learning more about disability hate crime.

To book a place on one of the workshops please contact Bev Montague on 01473 839240
